Coco was unhappy :(

Vanessa was in CA for a few days and Coco was unhappy about having to stay in my room while I was busy working. So she took her frustration out on my purse! She could have eaten a cheaper one!!! Geez!!!

Progress on the new flooring downstairs

We are nearing the end of our flooring project. Vanessa and I did the work ourselves to save some money, because I'm planning to have the house painted this summer.

This floor is turning out super awesome. It's a really pretty cherry laminate I got from Lowe's. I purchased the recommended 10% extra material for this project, and it looks like we will have just the perfect amount . WooHoo!! The room is approx 300 sq ft. It has a wonderful 'Empty Room Echo...Echo...Echo'...hehe.

After we finish the small section by the stairs, then it will be time to do some trim work. I was thinking of staying with the same trim and adding some quarter round trim to it.

There will be some more mural-type stuff on the walls later. It's going to be the jungle theme playroom for the daycare. Vanessa is the artist who did all the greenery around the perimeter of the room. She drew it with pencil... free hand, then painted it in.

Pampered Chef Awesomeness!!!

Special delivery...hehe...I ordered a few things just for me :) The bamboo bowl was so cool and unusual, I had to get one. I love everything from Pampered Chef!!!

New Laminate Flooring Downstairs

Pictures tell a thousand words, lol.

We are taking out the downstairs carpet and installing some pretty cherry laminate. By "WE" I mean me, Vanessa, Mark, and Leah...I know, it's crazy.

So the guys at Lowe's have gotten a chuckle out of my project. Yes, I hauled some laminate in the Mustang. Some would call it user abuse...I call it determination, haha.

So the kids helped me get all the carpet out. And I think they had fun with that part. Then we put down the vapor barrier and made use of mass amounts of duct tape, lol.

Lessons learned so far:
* wear work gloves!!!
* back the car out before cutting stuff in the garage!!! OMG!!!
* read direction!!!! They are helpful!!! Ugh!!! LOL

This floor is going to look SOoooooo awesome when we get it done :)

To the zoo for Mother's Day

I had a really nice Mother's Day. I started out by dropping Coco off at the groomer and getting some errands done. I returned a fire extinguisher, I bought the wrong one for the daycare. I bought a part for the lawn mower and fixed that...lol. And got some more tools...hehe. We are going to lay our own flooring. It going to be AWESOME!!!

The kids gave me cards and gifts :) I got a yoga mat and some candles from Vanessa. So cool!!!

For lunch we got some Subway sandwiches and headed to the zoo in Tacoma. I did put sunscreen on (multiple times, lol) but I still got a tad sunburned. Oh well. It was a beautiful day.

Night Out at the Paramount

Vanessa and I went to the Paramount Theater in Seattle to see Espirenza Spalding sing her jazzy tunes. It was pretty awesome! Its a beautiful theater too. This was the first time we have been there.

There are so many cool things to do in the Seattle/Tacoma area!
